Kastle and Hotz: Pirate and Celtic Music

Martha Hotz and Chris Kastle weave vocals, fiddle, guitar, whistle and drums with a Celtic flare—a mix of songs and tunes that tell of adventure on the stormy sea; chilling tales of pirates and betrayal; songs of love and longing; songs of sea and shore.

 

 

Chris Kastle is an award winning singer, storyteller, songsmith, author, artist and educator from St. Augustine, Florida.  She is a professional touring performer, seasoned traveler and tall ship sailor who offers insight into a lifetime of adventure. Her original songs and stories possess great imagery and have the occasional flavor of Celtic and Maritime traditions. She has published 12 recordings as a duo, three as a solo and her book of short, scary sea stories, From the Icy Finger of the Deep has received critical acclaim. Martha Hotz is a classical violinist and Celtic fiddler from St. Augustine who has performed with the Celtic contra dance band Meridian throughout Northern Florida; the group has released three CDs.  She has is also a member of the Palm Coast Chamber Players and a violin teacher of both Suzuki and the Mark O’Connor violin methods.
