THE ROARING RHINOCEROS AND FRIENDS – Concert with puppets
Hear the story of "The Roaring Rhinoceros" and find out her silly secret. Frolic and dance with the Baby Mammoth. Sing to the whales. Find out what has googly eyes, and much, much more.
Focus Areas: listening skills, gross and fine motor skills, singing and verbal skills, comprehension, social skills.
Audience: special populations and families with toddlers 18 months – 3 years of age; children must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or teacher.
BIG DOG, LITTLE DOG – Residency with puppets (8, 1.5 hour sessions)
Meet, sing, and play with big dog and little dog. During the 8 week, sequential, 1 hour workshops, each parent and child team will create sock puppets of their own and use them during a short musical play. Each team will receive a sewing kit and all of the materials necessary to complete their puppets. At the end of the program, the teams will be able to take their puppets and sewing kits home.
Focus Areas: adults -better parenting through the arts, sewing skills, visual art, music; children- listening skills, gross and fine motor skills, singing and verbal skills, comprehension, working together in a group, sharing, social skills.
Audience: Up to 10 parent and child teams. There can be 1 or 2 parents (or participating adults) on a team and 1child aged 18 months to 4 years of age. If more than 1 child is in a team, there must be 2 participating adults.
