Open to any Flagler County ESE student. Class size is limited to 10 students. Each student must be accompanied by an adult who is encouraged to actively participate. DRAGONS: A FESTIVAL OF MIXED MEDIA This year during the after school arts program, participating students and the VSAFL Teaching Artist, Chris Kastle, will complete a combination of individual and collaborative mixed media works while exploring the world of traditional Chinese dragons as well as dragons of the imagination. Session Three: Dragons in Flight: Thursdays, 1/8, 22, 29; 2/5/2015 - Each student will create a small mobile sculpture featuring dragons of their own imaginings. REBISTRATION OPEN Session Four: Dragon Dance: Thursdays, 2/12, 26; 3/12, 3/19/2015 - Students and the Teaching Artist will collaborate to create a single, 12 foot long operable dragon puppet that will be exhibited at the Government Services Building. Session One: Face of the Dragon: Thursdays, 9/4,11,18, 25/2014 - Based on historic dragon representations, each student will create their own dragon mask. SESSON COMPLETED
Session Two: Dragon’s Treasure; Thursdays, - 10/16, 23, 30; 11/6/2014 - Students and the Teaching Artist will collaborate to create a board game including the rules of play, the board and pieces such as cards, moving tokens, etc. The students will play the game. SESSION COMPLETED
