Join Chris Kastle for her workshop "The Principles of Performance" at the open monthly meeting of the Beaches League of Storytellers. Workshop Description: This workshop analyzes the basic components of a performance, reviews the basic skills necessary to do a presentation, and suggests an evaluation system for those skills that may be used to assess initial technique and measure improvement.  It is designed to help develop and hone performance abilities at any level and may be used as a coaching tool.* The system suggested by this workshop does not cover writing techniques, research, or choosing material.  It is not a critique of the material, only the presentation of the material. Each participant should come ready to present a 3-5 minute story or a segment of a story from memory; however, the same system can be used for works that are read or for presentations that use notes. Up to five names will be chosen randomly to have their piece evaluated for demonstrational purposes.  The workshop will last approximately 45 minutes.
